Hi Steve,
I have been trying to see (let alone take a shot of) a hoopoe. They are very common in Spain. I have lived in Spain for 6 years. I have been out and about in the conditions they like. I have seen and taken photos of much rarer wildflife. But do you think I have ever seen a sodding hoopoe??????????

Andy i dont give up till i have my shot it may take me a years but i will get it in the end. i have seen the bird no matter what you need a 600mm lens to get the result but you never know when you least expect it it may just drop at your feet. never give up trying you think birds are bad try astro photography your window is tiny........ who would want too be a photographer. {:o)

I agree with Andy. Fantastic capture of this wren. I can well understand its name of 'Blue Fairy'.
Well done, Herb

Sure stands out colour wise as all the wrens do. they are so tiny and like all small birds move very fast, the female who was with him i have only blur shots as she never stood still

What a charmer! What a colour. Our wrens are cute, but very plain in comparison!

There are a few here in WA and all stunning colours but they are in small environs you just got to be lucky to catch them . i believe if you dont try you will not get the result.....worth the effort. Steve
