Bald eagle on nest

Bald eagle on nest
Two juvenile bald eagles had just been driven away from the nest. This one is guarding at least one chick.

Thank you very much, Winscha & Marie-Claire. These eagles started building this nest in about 2007 or 2008. Before that, they had another nest about a hundred meters away, but the tree blew down in a storm, killing two of three babies. They improve the nest a little each year.

I'm impressed that you can spot all those eagles hidden in the trees. Excellent work.

The eagles have used this nest for 10 or 11 years, so I know exactly where it is. Sometimes the eagle will lie down in the nest and be impossible to see.
