Happy Floating Fence

Happy Floating Fence
This fence and gate usually leads to a footpath along the River Tern at Attingham Park. The river has burst its banks and the path is under about two feet of water. The Tern is a tributary of the River Severn, which does not bode well for Shrewsbury and other towns on the banks of the Severn.

Marco F. Delminho, Filippo Tosi, tiabunna, menonfire and 24 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very wet indeed, but great reflections. Also a much belated HFF, Amelia.

Have the waters receded, I hope there wasn't any flooding

For the last 3 or 4 days most of Attingham Park has been off limits because the two bridges that connect the woodland and deer park to the main building and its immediate surroundings have been under water. We may be able to get there tomorrow as it hasn't rained for 3 days now, so the river levels may have gone down. Shrewsbury town hasn't been so lucky, and many folks are pumping water from the cellars or brushing river water from their premises. I'd hate to be in their shoes, the insurance premiums must be sky high.
