St.Andrews harbour

A lovely harbour scene and I like the smells you remember. My early childhood was in the country and I don't remember smells. The rest of it was in Glasgow where I remember soot, the noise of tram cars, rag and bone men and their carts and the smell of sulphur from local works, sometimes strong enough to make you cough. Of and hot tar from road repairs, a favvourite.

The sea smells from your childhood are much nicer than some I remember of mine (farmers spreading liquid manure, the whole town stank...).
