#35 Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Nice shot, certainly an unusual sight for most of us.

I had the great privilege to meet a fellow photographer when we lived in Norway, who was prepared to take me round various places I would never have come across, Doug. Even he was surprised by the amount of snow and ice when we travelled up to see a network of reservoirs in the mountains.

A very good title dear LGM and an interesting tale too. Wonder where the survey will take us? xxx

Huge blocks of snow! I take shoe spikes in winter but wouldn't have thought of them in July;-) You probably could have done with crampons here.

As they say in Norway, "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing". But as you say, one doesn't expect this in July. and I was completely ill-prepared for this mountain trip, Gudrun.
Let's hope that the light continues to get brighter at the end of the tunnel.

Fascinating to see the blocks of ice. I'd expect them in July... but our seasons are reversed. :-)

For me, I was awestruck, George. I have, in the past, seen heavy snow in the UK, covering the tops of hedges and creating drifts, but that was a long time ago now. My Norwegian friend and guide, Per, was almost as surprised as I was I think. His intention was to look at all the dams and reservoirs in this area, but the roads were still blocked. They were cleared the following week apparently.

It is hardly what you can call summer, but it allowed you to take a very well composed picture, despite the slippery tunnel! Let's hope there is some light at the end of any tunnel...

Thank you, Adele. believe it or not, I was only wearing trekking sandals. They have good grip on the soles, but not in extreme conditions like these.

We are having a quiet Sunday, reading and bird watching from the comfort of indoors on this typical rainy winter afternoon in England.
