An even better day today so I had some lunch and took off for walk. I had checked the tide table and the tide was starting to ebb, this gives the best chance of spotting wading birds.Catching the birds is very hit and miss on a 10 mile stretch of coast and so it proved today,I didn't see any at all.

I started my walk by trekking through a rough section away from the beach,I like my walks to be in little wild areas if possible,I am not keen on tarmac under my feet.

This direction brought me out at the beach farther north than yesterday and I began scouring the waters edge for birds. From where I started I wandered up to the little stone breakwater/jetties and on the where the sand banks were starting to be uncovered. not a sign of anything interesting, not even stuff washed up by the recent tide, very disappointing.

I climbed back off the beach and snapped a war-time pill box,our line of defence from the German Navy,we still have the big gun emplacements as well, not with guns I hasten to add. These types of things still dot our shoreline a reminder of grim dark days.

From here I headed for the public playing fields and wandered up to the bank at the far end. I clambered up the bank I was confronted by my big challenge of the day,a field of gorse bushes. There is a convoluted path through here but you need to now it and you also need to make sure you don't tumble. The thorns of the gorse bush are fearsome needle sharp spikes.

I negotiated a safe path through them and returned home with another 2½ miles in the old legs.
Time to post this and the photos then a coffee me thinks.
