Peter from next door rang up this afternoon, and said he and his friend Chris would be round to collect the old tv's and take them to the recycling plant for me!

So half an hour later, they duly arrived and without too much huffing and puffing took the two large, old style, tv's out and out into the back of their car...................boy did that car sink lower and lower with the weight. I do hope they pumped up the tyres before they came!!!!

I also cheekily asked if they could dump an old portable black and white tv for me. I carried it downstairs myself, so it wasn't terribly heavy, and also as they were going to the "dump" and there was a place for cardboard, and I had a very large thin box my new tv had come in!!!!!!!!!!!.... Without hesitation they took them too.

Peter's parting shot before they went, was that Ann would probably be over later. "That's fine, I'll put the kettle on" I said.

I didn't hear from Ann until about an hour ago, when she came in smelling oddly of woodsmoke again!!!!! They'd been out there in my driveway having a great time, pulling down ivy, finding more wood, twigs, branches etc to burn!! They'd lit another bonfire!!!! They are pyromaniacs I tell you!!!! They were so happy to have a bonfire, they even said they had some garden stuff they wouldn't mind burning sometime!!!

They are most welcome to do that any day. Whilst they are burning on the driveway, they are killing the weeds, so it's a win-win situation for me isn't it?

Now my driveway has been cleared such a lot. They've managed to get back to the old stone wall by the greenhouse. I'd say they've managed to regain a piece about an extra 8 or 9 feet of driveway with all this work. Okay, there'd nowhere for Pippin to hide now, but it's damn cold out there as well as damp, so he probably won't be bothered!!! In fact he's lying on the back of the couch by the window having a good wash.

Okay, I've started on the new quilt, all I have to do now is join all the pieces together. I've done most of the cutting out, which takes a lot of time. Tomorrow, I'll bring out the sewing machine and really start getting it into shape.
