Thought that would get your attention!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Ron came to put up my curtain pole and I'd got all the various items I thought he'd need, all set up for him. The paintbrush and the paint, cos I thought the baton would need painting. Some "no-nails" adhesive to make sure it sticks to the wall, the step-ladder all ready for him. He set about sorting it all out and I came downstairs to let him get on with it.

A couple of hours later and he was downstairs saying that it was all finished. He's only short and he'd had a bit of an awkward time reaching up to the ceiling with the step-ladder I've got, but he'd managed it and it looked great.

I told him how grateful I was and maybe next time he could come and help me lay the spare carpet I had on the floor. He suggested that as he was already here, we could do it now.................

So between us we moved the furniture and now I'm not brilliant at lifting nor humping things around and I soon had to stop to rest. So I laid down on the bed while he was moving odd items around. He said that he'd be telling his mates that he'd been in a lady's bedroom with her lying on the bed!!!! So you can still get your minds out of the gutter. He was the complete gentleman (more's the pity - been a while for me!!!)

Anyway while I was trying to get my breath, we were talking about genealogy. He said that he'd been doing it for his family but he couldn't put it on the computer because he didn't know how to do it. So I thought quickly to myself - this is my way of saying thank you to him helping me - so I offered to put it on the computer for him. He was so surprised that he couldn't believe it. I told him I wasn't signed up for Ancestry but I could certainly put all his workings on to a tree and print it out with photos.

So we're going to arrange a time when he'll come over with all his findings plus some photos of the family that he's got and I'll make up a family tree for him. See quid pro quo works!!

So my lying prone on a bed, however inviting I may not have looked - did do me some good, having this carpet laid which makes the room look so much better. He only charged £10 for it too, despite the fact that I did wonder if he was ever going to survive all the heaving around. He's 71 for heaven's sake and fit, despite only being 5'2"!!!!!!
