Tuesday, I was not having a good time. I’d had a ‘bad’ night Monday: It took me ages to settle down due to what I call monkey brain - my brain wouldn’t shut up, I was too hot, then too cold, my leg was hurting me: stupid nerves that tell me I have pain but there’s no reason for it. I sat up in bed and massaged my leg a little then tried to get some sleep. At 5am I gave up and got up. So, crumpets and a cup of tea for breakfast. I ate one, thinking it didn’t taste that great, then started on the second and I’m thinking: these taste of garlic! The day before my delightful lol son had made garlic bread and I can only think that he inadvertently put the ‘dirty’ knife back in the butter instead of getting a clean one. The butter most definitely smelled of garlic! It ruined my breakfast.
I heard the dog get up, so I let him out. It was raining a little and he was whining so I let him in. About 10 minutes later, whilst I’m weighing out flour, he ran into the kitchen to be let out, again, so I obliged and noticed he had ‘dropped one’ on the living room carpet. OMG I was cross! I cleaned up, smacked his nose, and put carpet cleaner down.
I recently had to change my work password, so logged in to ensure I still could, and noted a news item about new uniform which will be ‘gender neutral’. WTF! I am NOT gender neutral, I’m a woman and wear, mostly, women’s clothes. A gender-neutral t-shirt or polo shirt will no doubt only look good on men and not women who actually have boobs! Give me strength!
Later, I had an email from our phone provider stating that our contract had ended. Say what now? It doesn’t end for months yet, and I’ve already sorted out a new contract, so on the phone to them! After 20 minutes on hold, and finally talking to a rep, it seems the email was sent in error because the upgrade is ‘open.’ Good grief! All this before 11am…
Despite my day, I slept very well that night, best night’s sleep in ages!
The petrol fiasco continues, and although I was able to fill up, it’s not good around here. I needed a few items from a supermarket and would usually walk, but the weather was atrocious, so I drove in the hope of avoiding getting soaked, and to try and get petrol. The queue wasn’t long, so I filled up which was a great relief. This could on for a while yet, so I’ve pre-empted, and cancelled my upcoming leave. I wanted to go to Cardiff, to visit my family, but dare not risk getting stuck there, so I’ve re-booked for later in November in the hope that this will have calmed down by then. If not, then I simply won’t go this year.
The rain continues, and the temperatures have dropped like a stone. One morning, it was 7C, whilst previously it’s been around 13C. A third layer is called for, and I’ve broken out the hot water bottle. My son recently tested the central heating and no doubt, if this continues, we’ll need the heating (of one kind or another) on very soon. Roll on spring lol.

As for the fuel fiasco - it's so ridiculous, we're not short of petrol - we just have delivery problems. I do hope you manage to get to Cardiff, I can't see a time when I will be able to see Mandi and Tony is so busy and has a long way to come, so no visits from my family.
It's cold, wet and windy here too - although the sun as been out a few times today and hopefully will continue tomorrow.
Have a great weekend sweetie.
Lot of garages by me don't have super-unleaded. Thankfully, I don't need that. I see on the news the army will be deployed from Monday to deliver fuel. They need to be used for food deliveries too.
You have a good weekend too.
Shame about the gas. We can get it but the cost has nearly doubled this year. Our lovely leader has "better ideas". I hope you are able to get to Wales.
Its turning cooler most days now. Still pleasant but the overnights have gotten chilly. Rick actually turned on the heat a bit this morning already as it got down to around 9 from 24. It will get cold fast now. I am not a fan either so totally agree, Roll on spring!
We put the heating on for about an hour on Saturday as it was very wet and very cold here. Definitely not pleasant.
