    Atlantic Records executive Jerry Wexler requested songwriters John Hurley and Ronnie Wilkins compose for Aretha Franklin in 1967. They submitted "Son Of A Preacher Man" and it was recorded by The Queen of Soul but it didn't jell with other tunes slated
