A number of empty benches on a bright sunny September day on the Ayrshire Coast!
Just after covid and many folk were still not venturing out. The fountain was presented to the town of Ayr by Hugh Steven, a Glasgow iron founder.
Ayr, is a town situated on the southwest coast of Scotland. The Isle of Arran can just be seen on the horizon and across The Firth of Clyde!
HBM and a nice week to all, Large view if possible please,

The beach on South Bay at Saltcoats, which sits on the North Ayrshire coast of the Firth of Clyde opposite the Isle of Arran.
In 16.9 format therfore a large view would be appreciated, HFF and a nice weekend!
Saltcoats owes its name and its existence to the discovery here of easily worked coal deposits in the 1200s, when the monks of Kilwinning Abbey operated mines here. A common early use for coal extracted from coastal deposits was to provide the heat to evaporated sea water to produce salt, and the shores here rapidly became lined with sheds in which coal fires burned 24 hours per day under large pans of sea water. This must have been a pretty unpleasant place 800 years ago.

With the dramatic Island of Arran as a backdrop these lovely ladies were taking a lunch break on the quayside at Carradale, which is the eastern side of the Kintyre peninsula, They spent a while chatting with my wife and were happy for us to take photographs,
This is 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated. HBM and a nice week ahead!

At Torrisdale Bay on the Eastern Cost of Kintyre is this extraordinary rock formation, formed I assume as molten lava reached the sea! However, information regarding these rocks appears to be non-existent.
PIP included for a cross view !
The sea is the Kilbrannan Sound with the Isle of Arran in the far distance
I will also say that in the main image, the light/Lens combination has turned the rock slightly greener than I remember it!
It only really becomes clear in a large view !!!!!!

A sturdy fence and very sturdy bollards on the South Pier at Ayr, both this pier and the breakwater on the other side of the harbour entrance have navigation lights but with totally differing structures while the land mass in the distance across the Firth of Clyde is the isle of Arran,
The breakwater is put to good use by a colony of Cormorants.
Ayr is the county town of Ayrshire, the administration center of South Ayrshire, and Ayr is the 15th largest settlement in Scotland.
Wish you HFF and a nice weekend, but please stay safe
