Sunda-Gaviale leben auf der Malaiischen Halbinsel, Borneo und Sumatra. Sie können bis zu 5 m lang werden. Nicht die Gene, sondern die Bruttemperatur bestimmt das Geschlecht der Jungtiere im Ei. Sunda-Gaviale sind vom Aussterben bedroht. Es gibt nur noch etwa 2500 frei lebende Tiere.
