Ben Hall was a famous Australian bushranger (highwayman/bandit in other countries). While he may not have been a Robin Hood, Hall was considered a "gentleman bushranger" who never killed anyone, kept his word, and stole only from the wealthy. We went to visit the place outside Forbes where a party of police troopers gunned him down, 150 years ago today, on 5 May 1865. Maybe it was appropriate that the heavens opened as we arrived (we were unable to leave the car). This Australian folk song is about him. Explored.

Taken up on the chilly tablelands. Some years ago, a local TV weather presenter became famously tongue-tied, trying to say "frosts and fogs" but instead giving the title for this image. For a musical background, try this. Best seen large on black. HFF! Explored.
