My Mazda 1500 near Lake Eyre (the salt pans in the distance) on the Oodnadatta Track, way back in 1971. It seems that a large 4WD is now the usual vehicle in this area, but this was just a normal car (hub caps removed) and with a 1 year old child in the back seat. Copied from a slide. I'm reasonably confident that this is Motuarohia Island (Maori) aka Roberton Island, considered to be one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand's Bay of Islands. Unfortunately our tour didn't allow time for us to land there.

Our cruise around the Bay of Islands finally stopped at Urupukapuka Island, where there is a cafe at Otehei Bay. It was becoming a little cool and not 'outside' weather at this stage, so you have your choice of outdoor benches. Best viewed large to choose. Every morning my old dog takes me out for a walk. This morning we wandered down this path to the beach (PiP), with the Tollgate Islands in the distance. On the right, the Coastal Wattle is coming into bloom, showing winter is almost over. Happy Fence Friday and have a good weekend, everyone.
