Glimpse of a wilderness

Glimpse of a wilderness
I tried all sorts of "on camera settings" to exaggerate the green tones but I eventually ended up to play around with Gimp software.

I first used 'Channel Mixer' to create black and white layer with green tones turned extremely light. Then I used that as a mask with "Value" layer mode to make the greens "shine" and pop out.

Nice result Sami.
Have you tried setting your ISO to 400 on a suny day?

Thank you, John =)

ISO 400? Not sure how it would help to get similar results?

oh I like this, I would rather not see those people but they give scale to the shot.. I think the pic would be more mysterious as to what that path is without them.

Thank you, Wendi =)

Yes I decided to post this version just because of the scale, but I do agree. Without people it do look best.

Well done.
Hopefully that black sky is not a forest fire!

No, no forest fires around here, luckily! The sky was dark and cloudy on that side, but not this dark. I manage to turn it like that, thanks to post processing method I described above. I also used some strong vignetting to make the bottom part lighter and darken the upper part of the image.

Thank you HC =)

Sun was actually behind the clouds at that moment, and more heavier clouds there on the background. Editing method used makes those trees "glove" ;-)

When this challenge was announced, I somewhat immediately knew this place would be a perfect spot for it.

I do recommend trying that post processing method, if possible ;-) It is surprisingly cool! I try to find some more detailed instructions later, or make them my myself...

First of all, it looks that the 'Value' -layer mode is only available on GIMP:
