Nope =P Nothing to do with IP situation. But everything to do with the situation of beauty and "art" =D

Yes, I agree, and that is why the links ;-)

I hope some day there comes something beautiful on that spot. The old building and fence where sort of beautiful, but got decayed and then demolished. Now there are barracks for workers. Now only trees are unquestionably beautiful on this view.

yes, i really like the falling down original fence. thanks for the link to Scruton's article. food for thought. but i really like to ponder the beginning where it says "... you would have learned that beauty is a value, as important in its way as truth and goodness, and indeed hardly distinguishable from them." beauty as a value. interesting. my husband considers it an emotion. with beauty where we sense the integration of the world to us - like when we cry hearing a certain piece of Bach's music.

thanks for giving me something to ponder!

Yes, I think the bottom line, what Scruton is after, is that we need to seek for optimism. World is pessimistic place enough already. Beauty in art then can be like a smile on a face. More often we smile, more hope there is.

The PiP shows that necessary work is being done. Would like to see what is like when the work is done! But I like it!

Well, those barracks are hopefully only temporary ;-)

Maybe some day there comes something unquestionably beautiful =)

Enjoyed the wooden fence, but a friend in Florida used to tell me "after a certain length of time - they just become good photo-ops .."

And you captured it both ways ...
