Such a delightful image..............this looks like a proper community shop but also a place to socialise, exchange information and relax. There can't be many like this left nowadays.

Just a small village Jeff, but people come from the surrounding areas to shop there.

Yes I agree Roger. Many of the garden centres sell local produce now as well, which has got to be good.

Nice to go into these places in hopes of finding something different Rosalyn. The advert for the pies caught my eye but as always see these things especially as this is the last day of my first weeks dieting.

You would find plenty that is different in this lovely little shop Maurice...maybe pass the pies by, however tempting ;-))

Exactly the kind of shop many villages are missing nowadays, including mine. A great collection of exterior and interior pictures which explain very well what the shop is about. I will have two of the award winning pies to go;-))

I quite agree Doug. There are lots of community run shops in this area, and many have a cafe as well. The pies did smell very nice ;-))

More specialised items are the only way these small shops can survive, and of course the location it wouldn't last where I live

I don't know how people find it, as it's very "out of the way" but they do, and it thrives thankfully :)

That looks like a magical little shop and "ticking all the right boxes". Sadly, we have virtually none like this here, courtesy of the large shopping chains.

That is a good word to describe them George....magical! The other two that are only a short distance from my daughter have such interesting goods on offer, and I noticed only a little or no dearer than the supermarkets on many items!
