A lovely typical rural station is the cafe in the building or the carriage

There is a cafe in the building but I think the carriage is more a night time cocktail bar. It wasn't open when I passed it.

Cracking composition Rosa and interesting notes. One day that fine building will grow into the chimneys;-)

The station is so well kept. Is this all down to volunteers? I wonder if the line closed just ahead of the Beeching Cuts.

Yes it is Amelia. Apart from the fact that it was finally closed in 1962 I don't know anything more about it. It is probably privately owned, but I'm not sure.

The place looks much better that the last time I visited.

So many of these old stations and trains were just left to rot...................it's good to see that these have been restored and put to good use. It's a super attraction, especially for railway enthusiasts, and there's no shortage of those in this country :-)

I'm going to have to add West Bay to my list...................

The station has been a cafe for a long time Keith but I don't remember seeing the carriages before. It's a great position for them as it is close to the main car park, so a lot of footfall.

I think the work in West Bay on the sea defences and prettying up an area near the harbour is due to finish in late July. I did find it very interesting all the same.

Hmm, this looks attractive! Sausage and pear sounds an interesting culinary combination;-) Actually, in northern Germany they eat Birn, Bohnen und Speck (pears, green beans and bacon) and it tastes good!
