Taking up with John's comment; just how do they get these old uniforms to stay un-moth-eaten un-faded and generally un-worn-and-torn! I can't keep a pullover five minutes without it unravelling or generally falling apart, regardless of cost and quality!

Some of them were very threadbare Andy and the WWI uniforms were very worn and of such scratchy material. Not at all suited to the conditions of war. By the way, Ian has a solution for you ;o)
