McDonald's in Shrewsbury!!

McDonald's in Shrewsbury!!
Shrewsbury is home to the oldest building in the World to house a McDonald's restaurant. Part of the building on Pride Hill date back to the 13th century. You would never know it from the street level, but go down stairs and it's a different world. The walls are part of the original town walls. In Shrewsbury, even your burger is served with a large portion of heritage!

Nouchetdu38, , Sonia Roosen, Andy Rodker and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

We read about the walls in a little local guide book Nick. It was amazing to sit surrounded by them and as we were taking so many pic's, thought we had better buy a meal :-)) All the best and Merry Christmas, Rosa.

A first for me too :) I have to say though that the young staff were very pleasant and helpful.

I agree Fabio. The town has so much history and if this was a visitor's centre I'm sure it would be a great asset. As it is, for the price of a burger, it was well worth the money :))
All the best, Rosa.

We can all be snobbish about McDonald's (it is really very easy!), and I have been no exception for many years but full marks to them in this case.
Perhaps they could do spit-roast burgers here! And buxom serving wenches doling out lashings of frothing real ale. And .... No. I'm getting a little bit carried away!
Nice shot, though!
Have a good weekend, Rosa.
Best wishes, Andy

Ha ha, that would be more fitting Andy and very popular I'm sure. They even incorporated the turrets into a cosy seating area. The young people who did venture down the many steps seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere and I have to say McDonald's had done a good job with the beautiful lighting.
All the best, Rosa.
