S&DJR 4-wheeled brake third drwg PJS 22.5.1972

S&DJR 4-wheeled brake third drwg PJS 22.5.1972
As with the other drawings the small squares are 1/10 of an inch - for 4mm/1ft. These general arrangement drawings have been made from photographs, sometimes with the aid of an overall length. So do not consider them as scale drawings.
The left end has a guard's ducket or lookout - the shading in the lower panel shows where it curves under. The train was formed of two of these brake thirds, virtually the same, but one had an upholstered compartment for office staff and supervisors. In between was a former composite coach - all of the same design and construction. These, a photograph (plate 62) and many more details can be found in Colin Maggs' excellent 'Highbridge in its Heyday'.
