As with the other drawings the small squares are 1/10 of an inch - for 4mm/1ft. These general arrangement drawings have been made from photographs*, sometimes with the aid of an overall length. So do not consider them as scale drawings.
*or in this case redrawn from a larger scale drawing in the HMRS Journal Vol.9 No.6. That was before the days of scanners & computer-aided rescaling!
