HAPPY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY 2024.
Each day I walk around the part of Mandurah where I live, usually with my phone camera but also occasionally with my Fuji. I often take photos of the same things each time: Town Beach, the marina, the estuary which runs through the town, the small Mandjar Bay which is part of the old town, shops and cafes and such things. Nothing that I photograph is special, but everything is special to me because it is the place in which my wife and I chose to live when we arrived in Australia in the year 2000. By photographing it I keep it in my heart and mind at all times. Soppy, I know, but who cares?
Ipernity has welcomed me, too. I like the idea that World Photography Day is an opportunity for all of us (or as many as wish to participate) to join together on the same day.
This picture is of the Sugar Lips mobile cafe which sits in the car park at the Silver Sands beach each morning. Many people pass here on walks or their journeys to work and get a coffee. Just over the hill there, where the couple are looking, is the Indian Ocean.
As I’ve said before, it might not be a perfect place, but it’s as close to paradise as an old reprobate like me is ever going to get.
Have a delightful day, won’t you.

Oceanic Bar + Grill. Early morning. Cleaned and ready.
A Happy Tuesday Table to all. These tables are great to sit at as you watch the boats in the Mandurah marina whilst you eat and drink.

"This here's the wattle, the emblem of our land.
You can stick it in a bottle, you can hold it in your hand.
Amen."
With thanks to Monty Python.
(For the edification of all foreigners and strangers to this wonderful land, the wattle is an Australian cultural icon.)

Happy Bench Monday to all of you. I hope that your day is better than this fellow's.

A Happy Fence Friday to everyone. I hope you enjoy every minute of the day and the weekend.
This is on Hay Street in Subiaco, a suburb of Perth. The building has been derelict for a number of years and is the subject of a prolonged dispute between the owners/developers and the local council. If the dispute over the old Subiaco Markets is any indication, this building will remain like this until the year 2050 (and I'm not exaggerating for comic effect).

A Happy Table Tuesday to all gin drinkers from the Little Stiller in Mandurah.
Actually, a Happy Tuesday Table to everyone, whether a drinker of alcohol or not. All are welcome at the table as long as you smile and are polite to strangers.

A Happy Bench Monday to all. I hope the day goes well (for a Monday, anyway).
No, this bench is NOT comfortable. My skinny bum was not pleased with the forty-five seconds it resided upon this bench. It's pretty though (the bench, not my bum): decorative rather than practical. It sits outside a restaurant/hotel on the edge of the Margaret River townsite in beautiful Western Australia.
