The bottom one says that the building was hit by a bomb in 1940, then rebuilt and reopened by Princess Margaret in 1951.

Alexandra Road Estate 2

Designed in 1968, built 1972-78. It's the largest social housing estate, and the last one to be built, in London. It's the longest roof in Europe or some such thing.

I've seen this estate in many movies and tv progams -- Prime Suspect, Waking the Dead, Breaking and Entering. They usually involve the cops chasing someone who is jumping down from balcony to balcony.
