I found this in a charity shop yesterday morning. I decided to photograph it on its own and am quite pleased with the result.

Sea Shell

This is called a Murex shell. Thanks to James for the correct ID. It was in a bag of mixed shells I got from a charity shop.
Better viewed large, I think.
Portsmouth Naval Memorial

Taken whilst standing on a very parched Southsea Common.........not a bit of green grass in sight.
The memorial commemorates those members of the Royal Navy who had no known grave, the majority of deaths having occurred at sea.
10,000 sailors of the First World War and almost 15,000 of the Second World War.
There are similar memorials in Plymouth and Chatham.

Taken at the top of a very high tide. Another couple of feet and those posh cars would have been in trouble!

I spotted this stone on top of a fence post at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. I thought it stood out enough to deserve having it's photo taken!

I bought these from the fruit and vegetable stall at our local market.
I don't like figs, but my wife does, so she was quite pleased. She didn't believe that I'd bought them especially for her though :-)))

I found this beautiful little flower growing on a bit of waste ground during a walk last Tuesday. It was a nice surprise!

Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire last Sunday, between rain showers.
Viewed large, you can get an idea of how many Egrets were hanging around, even though they're not in focus. Too far away for my lens unfortunately. This was taken on my phone as I didn't have a wide angle lens with me.

I picked this up in my street and took it home to photograph on an LED light panel, which has brought out the colours and detail very nicely!
Balancing Act

A Little Egret balances in a tree over the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. I don't have a lens over 150mm, this is a large crop, but I'm pretty happy with it.
