More Snowdrops

Some more snowdrops from my visit to our local churchyard. This image is in 16:9 format, so is best viewed large.
The daffodils in the churchyard will be flowering soon as well........check out the PiP.
Garden Moss
| |
I've been watching the moss growing on an old house brick in my garden for a while and today I decided to to bring it indoors and take a photo. This was an in-camera focus stack.
Probably better viewed large, on black.

The Chinese Bridge
| |
Located in Staunton Country Park, near where I live.Staunton Country Park
The Chinese Bridge leads from the footpath to a small island in the lake. Built in 1833, the brickwork is original with the woodwork having been refurbished a few years ago.
Please view large. Thank you.
The PiP shows a young Black-headed gull perched on the bridge.
Portsmouth Street Art
| |
A collage made up from small pieces of street art, all taken over the past year and which I've never got round to posting until today.
None of these pieces had the artists name visible.

Sails of the South
| |
The Sails Of The South are located in the central reservation of the M275, the motorway leading to the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire. The sails are 43 metres high and mark the junction with the M27 motorway. The design is meant to symbolise the three directions of the motorway intersection as well as recognising Portsmouth's maritime activities. The sails are normally illuminated at night.
In the foreground are a number of Brent Geese and a few gulls.
Collared Dove
| |
I spotted this lovely dove perching on top of a lamp post. I was able to get of photo of it from the adjacent pedestrian bridge over the railway lines, which put me on the same level as the bird.
Hanging Pears
| |
I couldn't work out a decent composition for these pears, then my brain shouted "hang 'em up". I don't know where that thought came from but this is the result :-))
A piece of card as a background and lit by flash.
Filling the Cracks
| |
Our local councils are not very good at repairing the cracks in the pavements, but it seems nature has decided to do the job for them!
Mute Swan
| |
Taken during a walk around Hilsea, Lido near Portsmouth, yesterday. A sunny but cold day.
Please check out the PiP for another shot of the same swan, taken just before this one.
Thanks for looking.
Tooth Brushes

Taken indoors in natural window light, using textured coloured card as a background.
False Virginia Creeper
| |
This grows in an alleyway near our house, so I picked some and took it indoors to photograph.
Lotus Flower Seedbeds
| |
I found these in a local craft shop........apparently they've been dried out and given a whitewash coating. I thought the shapes and textures were fascinating.
Better viewed large, I think.

Orange Flavoured Bubbles

I was stuck for something to photograph today, so unashamedly I've "borrowed" an idea from something James posted last year. Sorry James..!!
Please take the time to check out James' photo here: www.ipernity.com/doc/2818116/53055032
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!
Chichester Guildhall
| |
The Guildhall, Chichester, West Sussex. Taken in Priory Park in harsh sunshine back in November 2025.
Although called the Guildhall, this building is actually a Franciscan ecclesiastical building from the 13th century, now used as a wedding venue.
For those interested here is a potted history: www.thenovium.org/article/27393/History-of-The-Guildhall
I don't have time for commenting etc today as I'm out to dinner with family this evening. I'll catch up with you over the next few days.

I don't often attempt a contre-jour shot, but this one turned out quite well, I thought. Taken from behind one of the churches in Havant town centre.
