Water droplets on glass. It's been a few years since I did any of these shots and I had to try and remember how to do it...........so this is very much a test shot..!!

Keith Burton club has replied to John FitzGerald clubKeith Burton club has replied to Gudrun clubBasically, I make two columns of books, about 2ft high, and balance a sheet of plain glass to bridge the gap. The glass is treated with a product called RainX. which encourages the water droplets to form. I then put water droplets on the glass with a pipette. (Similar products exist, and are usually used to keep car windscreens clear or the glass in shower stalls).
Underneath you can add anything........I used smarties, but you can use coloured paper, stones or whatever you like.
You then have to work out an aperture on the camera/lens that allows you to focus on the water droplets to get the items sharp in the drops.
It does take a while to set up, but practice makes perfect.
