I wish I could have them in my garden............but my neighbour is quite happy for me to photograph his.

Sweet. We had that in Spring, but now it dried out like almost everything else !

Not at all, my wife just has to avoid touching or brushing against the flowers, when she visits.

I feel with your wife, I probably would also be in trouble with the hairs on the plant (just like with radish or strawberry leaves).
