Definitely the swans Isabel............between them and the gulls, the ducks didn't stand a chance :-)))

les canards, au fond sont un couple,
les cygnes, je ne pense pas car celui de gauche est encore un jeune cygne
de l'année dernière sont plumage est encore tacheté de gris..

Thank you for your well thought out and kind comments Roland. Yes, the ducks are a male and female mallards, and probably well established pair. I think the swans were a mother and her cygnet - although the cygnet is nearly all grown up.

Wonderful photo with both pairs included, the Mallards and the Mute Swans. Sadly, the Mute Swans have been introduced here and have spread across North America, often displacing the native swans.

It's always sad when any invasive species displaces native ones..........but the animals aren't to blame. Us humans can't resist interfering with nature..!!

They are there to remind motorists not to park their car on the road when the tide is coming in. It is quite common to find submerged cars on this road at hight tide..!!
