Brook Meadow Nature Reserve

Brook Meadow Nature Reserve
This a view along the stream in Brook Meadow, a very small nature reserve in Emsworth, Hampshire.

I didn't walk too far on this day......it was wet and boggy and I didn't have the right footwear on as this was an unscheduled visit. I shot this from the bridge over the stream.

Try viewing large if you have time.

Good decision Keith. It looks wet and boggy, but just the place to go in spring and summer, when everything is coming to life again. It looks beautiful even at this stage. A lovely shot.

Have a good new week. Lots of rain overnight here, but not too bad now! :)

Thanks Rosa...........I often have a quick walk round when we're in Emsworth. Apparently there are water voles nearby, but I've never seen one yet. The area is owned by the council but maintained by volunteers, who do a pretty good job.

Today was very cold, but lovely and sunny.

A delightful image in beautiful soft January light,
I very much like the winter colours and those lovely reflections,
arouses my desire to back out to the levels when the floods subside,
Have a great week, Keith

Thanks Roger..........I'm pleased you like it. Although it's on the edge of the town, not many people seem to go there, which is great from my point of view. It's owned by the council, but maintained by volunteers.

It's a good place for me to go whilst my wife visits the shops!

Have a good week yourself.

als je zo deze moerasachtige opnames ziet dan denkt men komende zomer mag het weer warm en droog worden-maar voor je het weet is het alweer te droog--mooie plaat keith

What a great picture - to see the ground conserving itself with the help of the rain and mud etc. Soon it'll start producing new plants of flowers in time for Spring.

Thanks Jenny. I'll probably be back there a few more times this year.

My, this is really fascinating, Keith. I love thé tracery of the slender naked branches cobwebbing the sky. It is delicate, yet strong. The reflections cap it off!
Cheers D

A fine swampy view here. The kind that we find on our walks quite often. Well done.

Pretty much everywhere is swampy here at the moment...........we've had well above average rainfall. I've hardly taken any photos outdoors for a while now.

Glad you like this particular swamp though..........thanks Herb.
