The fireweed adds a great splash of colour to the soft green and white, beautiful! A good thing they let it all grow, we need much mir of that.

I hear they still cut them back every June in Cornwall (when they're at their very best) due to the Council's fear of being sued by litigious drivers complaining of a hindered lane view (It's true, driving on the country lanes then does become more problematic. But people should just be more careful!). It's so sad to see great swathes of glorious colour being mown down!

I can't see the problem personally..........as long as road signs and markings are visibile and the foliage is cut back on blind corners, road junctions etc, they should be able to leave the rest to grow! People need to take responsibility for their own driving!

Definitely prettier than plain grass. It probably needs to be mowed every year to prevent it growing up in trees.
