In diesem Jahr hat mein Baum sehr viele Kastanienigel abgeworfen. Sie eignen sich gut als Herbstdeko im Haus. Aber im Sommer kann ich unter dem Baum nicht barfuß laufen.

I had to look up 'tribbles'. We've seen lots of these but the squirrels have got there before us, so not enough chestnuts to make a puree for Christmas.

Glad you like the shot Amelia...............there were loads of these on the forest floor, but the vast majority were empty. The squirrels are obviously stocking up for the winter.

I'm old enough (just) to remember these being roasted and sold hot from makeshift braziers on street corners.
