"An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away"

A variant of the proverb, "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread" was recorded as a Pembrokeshire saying in 1866. The current phrasing, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", began usage at the end of the 19th century, with early print examples found as early as 1887. (Wikipedia).

That's a saying that our mother's knew and would use often Keith! A superb picture of the apple and nicely framed by the leaves across the top. The background bokeh is good too....almost dazzling! I still prefer apples cooked, and I've got a tree full of eaters!!

I had one my my tree this lunchtime...........most of the others are peeled, cored and frozen for cooking later, but I always save a few for myself.
