The Sunday Challenge - Souvenirs

Mount Rushmore - 2005 South Dakota USA What a powerful statement that can only really come from rock. I wondered why we don't do anything like this now? Such a vision at a time when it must have been very hard to do, but they went ahead and did it anyway. All the work that went into it was so inspiring. I remember the smell was so soft and interesting. Such an aromatic walk in the heat. The hike up the trail was so much fun with many twists and turns. My son collected some golden sand from the hiking trail and I placed it with our souvenirs along with a picture I took. Heart of Gold: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH_QroMnBwY

Me and my older, teenage sisters.

Thanks to Ingrid I am happily remembering the Beatles' 50th anniversary of coming to America today. I wanted to share a picture of my 3 older sisters that were so much fun growing up with. (I thought I would add me in here too.) They were die-hard Beatle fans and were always playing their music. Here's to the memories. This is the first song I ever remember hearing and it was by The Beatles who are still my favorite group today. From their "Meet the Beatles" album (1964) Live: Till There Was You Till There Was You Till There Was You

Sight and Sound "Who needs a crowd when you're happy at a party for two" I just stumbled upon this artist recently and I am so in love with her and her band that I have to share. :) Kasey Musgraves from her album "Pageant Material" (2015) Late to the Party Late to the Party Late to the Party

Somewhere in England

24 Jun 2011 5 10 400
Sight and Sound I think I'll add another photo to my "Cool Old Photo" album. I've been neglecting it lately. This is my oldest sister, Kathy, studying hard "somewhere in England" circa 1957.... (it turns out she is at school in Marston Moreteyne.) ...which segues nicely into George Harrison's "Life Itself" from his "Somewhere in England" album (1981) Life Itself Life Itself

I'm Back....

Sight and Sound My computer is fixed and I'm back! (This is my last saddle right before I sold it.) I have 2 songs for you to choose from. (Which one suits you best?) :D "Back in the Saddle" Aerosmith "Rocks" (1976): Back in the Saddle or Back in the Saddle I'm Back in the Saddle Again Gene Autry (1939?): I'm Back in the Saddle Again or I'm Back in the Saddle Again

Since it's raining non-stop here I had to reach into the past for this one and a trip to Devils Tower in Wyoming. (PiPs) (Best on Black) What a cool place. You can go there and even spend the night. Can you imagine hiking around this amazing monument at night under the stars? I'd love to go back! Beatles (George) from their "With the Beatles" album (1963) Devil in Her Heart Devil in Her Heart

Going Mobile...

18 Dec 1964 8 6 357
Sight and Sound ....And speaking of Christmas. It's "Cool Old Photo" time, once again.... Circa 1964. This Christmas we all got vehicles. Here I am with my little brother and sisters. I got the fire engine with the cool bell on top. I was already too big for it and although I loved it very much I do remember getting bruises on my shins from them beating against the front of it. It didn't stop me from driving it all over the place though. :D Oh how we loved these presents! Note that my little brother is in a "walker" that would later be considered too dangerous for toddlers. Somehow he survived. Such is life... Beep, beep! The Who from their "Who's Next" album (1971.) Going Mobile or Going Mobile or Going Mobile

God Bless the Child...

16 Aug 1963 7 6 333
Sight and Sound "Cool Old Photo" time again! Here's some of the crazy siblings I grew up with (circa 1963) There's my older brother holding my younger brother, my oldest sister holding my youngest sister, my other sister with my other sister and me praying in the foreground. There is one child missing and she's taking the photo. So..."God bless the child"..... (and the photographer that's always missing from the scene ;) Blood Sweat and Tears from their self titled album (1968) A brilliant song written by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr. God Bless the Child God Bless the Child

Snow!

01 Jan 1963 9 6 429
Sight and Sound Happy New Year, everyone! :) Cool Old Photo, once again! (Got to fill my album up before it's deleted ;) It snowed here today and reminded me of days gone by.... Remember when it snowed and we just had fun? Here I am with my little sister, Sheila and our dog, Tammy, and again with one of my older sisters, Janny (1963.) Valerie Carter from her "Stone's Throw Away" album (1977) So, So, Happy or So, So, Happy
