Although marijuana has been legal here in Washington state since 2012, it's still surprising to see a sign like this when I'm driving down the road. What's for sale in your neighborhood? ;-)
From Bob Rivers of Seattle's Twisted Tunes. This song is a parody of "One of Us" by Joan Osborne. Bob Rivers wrote it but I don't know who the singer is, nice voice though.
All in good fun. :)

Cool Old Photo time again! (Processed in Silver Efex.)
I posted this little gang: www.ipernity.com/doc/k.e.s_kloset/41482980/in/album/744088 a while back, but they were a bit younger then and one wasn't born yet.
These are all the kids in my mom's childhood family and that's my mom, the only girl growing up in Ohio with 5 rowdy brothers (taken by my grandpa circa 1938.) I think she deserves her own song so I will dedicate this one to my mom. ♥

I have been dazzled by images of beautiful, ancient castles posted by many of you over the years and thought you might enjoy seeing one near my home here in the states. Yes, there is a "castle" near my home... :-)
Built long, long ago (circa 2007) in the faraway land of Poulsbo, Washington this castle really stands out among the other homes. You can read a little about it here. It was a real labor of love: Castle Home

SSC and Sight and Sound
I went back up to Port Gamble to find this house that I missed on my first trip. I had seen it online but never recognized it while driving through the town. It turns out the rather plain back of the house faces the street and the most picturesque front view faces the sea so you can't see it unless you walk down and around to the front. Ships arrived at this view back in the late 1800s. This is the Walker-Ames House that was built in1889 and is the largest historic home in the town. It has been empty since the town mill closure in 1995 and is also said to be haunted: www.hauntedplaces.org/item/walker-ames-house
I used Silver Efex Pro2 from the Nik Collection for the vintage effect. You can see my original in a note.

Time for another "Cool Old Photo."
These are some folks from my husband's side of the family. The young lady is my husband's great-great grandmother and the young man would be his great-great uncle. The folks in front are their mama and daddy which would be my husband's great, great, great grandparents, circa 1850. This photo was severely damaged which gave me the opportunity to try my hand at some mending.

Looking through my kitchen window at the birch trees laden with heavy snow the other morning (alder trees in the background.) I was so afraid they would break! My husband went out and gently pushed the branches with a big, long pole and knocked the snow off of them. They are now standing up straight thank goodness! It's amazing what trees have to weather.
