Spider, fly

I think my favourite spider is the Zebra jumping spider, a friendly enough fellow when you are too big for him to bother with. This morning on our deck, I saw this one subduing and then eating a fly, one of the many flies that overpopulate the area around our deck.

While he was tending to his newly caught fly breakfast, a half dozen other flies like his prey were hanging around watching. Like a crow funeral, I suppose.
