Allium giganteum opening
This was a mystery two months ago when it appeared next to my garlic patch.
Eventually we remembered: the company we buy plants from had sent it, a "Giant onion flower," as an unordered gift. At the time, we didn't have plans for it and I spent two or three minutes getting it in the ground before frost got it.
And we forgot about it.
Now it is readying to open. I think, however, it'll be at least a couple more weeks before it reaches its peak.
