Very red pink ladyslipper orchid
Late in June is when I expect to see the ladyslippers all out in bloom in the higher-levels ring around St. John's where I live. This year they were somewhat early. Where I went this morning, the 22nd of June, along a wooded path at the northwest of the city, they were all in bloom or just past their peak. Hundreds of them.
