A Weekend Walk

Koliba is a wooded recreational area on the slopes of Kamzík hill above Bratislava, long used by locals as an easy gateway from the city into the surrounding Carpathian landscape. It lies only a short ride from the centre, and you can reach it in roughly ten minutes by trolleybus to the Koliba stop or by car, then continue straight on foot into the forest. People mainly visit to enjoy the outdoors: they walk among the trees, go jogging, and especially hike further uphill towards Kamzík and along the ridges, where wide views over Bratislava and the nearby countryside open up. The grassy meadows and clearings around are popular places for picnics and barbecues at marked fire pits, used by families, groups of friends, and dog owners throughout the warmer months. Koliba also connects into a broader network of marked tourist paths that run across the Little Carpathians and beyond.
