Logan's Roadhouse

|
|
One of my favorite restaurants is Logan's Roadhouse. They serve mouth-watering steaks and are located all around my area.

Cheaha Brewing Company

|
|
This was an old train depot, down in Birmingham, Alabama, which had been converted into a restaurant. They also brewed their own beer which they served and featured live bands to play for their patrons. A band I used to be in played there on June 11th, 2015.
Would You Like Fries With That?

Some french fries from a McDonald's restaurant located in Kentucky. I was on a road trip with my girlfriend at the time and her daughter. It was her daughter that liked eating here. It's probably one of the last times I ate at this place because I'm not a real big fan of fast food.

Speed Shot At Daytona Beach

A shot of a 1957 Chevrolet speeding along Daytona Beach, in Florida. My Dad took this when he was in the Navy; this shot was taken in 1956 - before he was even married and long before I came along. And it must have been after the new 1957 models came out late in the year.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

A typical Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant. There is a chain of them and this one is located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They have very good food.

The Works

This is your typical breakfast at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. They specialize in regular "down home" cooking. I wish I had this food in front of me right now - it sure looks appealing!

A male Monarch butterfly. One year when the Monarchs were migrating south, they used my backyard as a hotel. There were hundreds of them!
Independence Day
| |
|
Today, July 4th, 2025, we celebrate the 249th anniversary of our independence. I'm thankful that we have a country where we can gather together, speak our minds and worship in the way we choose. Many men and women have died through the years protecting our freedoms and we are thankful for their sacrifice. God Bless our nation and our President.
I am personally celebrating this day and showing my allegiance to our nation by displaying our flag, Old Glory, and grilling out. What a country! The fireworks display will come later on when it gets dark.

2025 - Our Flag Was Still There

|
The Star Spangled Banner
Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
