The Flood Of '20

The Flood Of '20
No, this is not a lake - it is a park in the nearby town of Carmi, Illinois. After a couple weeks of heavy rains, parts of Southern Illinois are still under water. Many even worse than this. I set my Sony Alpha SLT-a77v to widescreen to get this shot.

Taken on January 31st, 2020.

Karen's Place, Heide, Gillian Everett, Valfal and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

My God; it really looks like a lake ! Hope the rain stops soon. It’s a crazy world: Australia is burning and you‘re drowning ! A scary scenery but a nice picture !

Das kenne ich von unseren Flüssen auch. So lange es keine zu großen Schäden gibt, ist es nicht so schlimm.

Amazing. Good for the farmers, though.

We have had such comparatively harmless floods here on the Upper Rhine, too.
Very beautifully presented as a panoramic picture, Kenneth

Wow, that's a lot of water. It's been raining like that here too for most of January. I hope it's not damaging anything there. Such a good subject for your panorama, Kenny.

Bad flooding for sure! The shot works very well in monochrome, Kenny. Crisp detail too.
