Great photo! Ever watch "Longmire"?

No, I've never seen it nor heard of it. On a totally unrelated point, I did notice from that link you provided that the first season lasted only 10 episodes. That's like British TV. American TV has slowly been going downhill ever since the 1950's. In the 1950's, a television season had 39 episodes to it. (The other 13 weeks were devoted to summer replacement series that lasted longer than whole seasons of today last!) By the 1970's, series had 24-26 episodes per season. In the 1990's, it was shrinking to 22 episodes per season and the length of each episode shrunk as well. I heard there was a show called "Duck Dynasty" which premiered in 2012 and it's already had 7 seasons. What's up with that?

Needless to say, I don't watch commercial television any more. The shows I watch have 39 episodes per season or 26 episodes per season and are on DVD.

Longmire is a great drama and I'm glad Netflix picked it up. Episodes ... 30 minute or 60 minute? I can remember James Garner saying it took 8 days to film a Maverick episode.

Both 30 minute and 60 minute shows had 39 episodes back in the 1950's. I think how Maverick got around the 8-day window is that they had two crews. One crew would be filming a Bret Maverick episode, and the other crew would be filming a Bart Maverick episode, James Garner's character's brother.

I remember him talking about that in his autobiography. I think he got Rockford down to six days per episode. Seems like I remember Myrna Loy commenting they shot their early movies in about 10 days.

The cheesey motion picture "Night Of The Living Dead" was shot over a weekend.
