Mist of Morning

Another from the archives this time it's back to 2015 and an image from Loch Leven at Glencoe Village. My notes say that is was a bright but misty morning with the beautiful light you would expect in the Highlands and a full tide which has just started to ebb. Loch Leven is an 8.75 mile sea Loch which opens at the seaward end into Loch Linnhe and contains 9 small islands, Enlarge if you please, ,,,,, HFF and a good weekend.

Castle Walls

A dark and mysterious castle with a long history, This is Dunstaffnage Castle which was built before 1240 and has far reaching views across the Firth of Lorne, Once the stronghold of the MacDougall Clan it was captured by Robert the Bruce in 1308 and stayed in Royal hands until 1409. In 1746 Flora MacDonald was held here before her transfer to the Tower of London, for aiding the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie. ,,,,,,,,,,,,, HWW! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,Large maybe For Sight and Sound www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTZs7oMEIOY

Local Wall Art

A small section of sea front wall art at Weston Super Mare showing stones painted by local artist Kate Poole, The stones on the left depict the at present dilapidated Birnbeck Pier and across the bottom the famous steam ship, m/s Balmoral which has sailed from Weston for many years. More images of these lovely stones will follow in due course. A large view is recommended, HWW!
