A wonderful pair of very atmospheric compositions of what must be one of the most beautiful views on Skye. We have been on the other side of this water at Camasunray Bay, but never to Egol, perhaps one day! Thanks for the interesting notes Roger.

I recognise that view from the beach at Elgol....................it's magnificent, and you've really done it proud in this shot.

I remember seeing at least two Pro Photographers taking workshops on the beach when I was there!

A village school on the lakeshore … it makes me want to be a kid again and live there. :)

Truly one of the best locations I can imagine.

We used to hire a boat from this beach at Elgol to take us into the heart of the Cuillins where Loch Scavaig and Loch Coruisk almost meet (There is a Junior Mountaineering Club hut there were we always stayed). A wonderfuly evocative shot for me!

Nice comments Andy thank you I'm pleased to have brought back good memories and I found that a hut is still available but maintained by a different group these days.

I made a mistake in my previous comment and didn't give the hut its full name at the time which was the Junior Mountaineering Club of Scotland Loch Coruisk hut.
Many thanks for the info and the link which brought back many more memories for me. Primitive though the hut was (and I see it is gradually being upgraded over the decades!), it was a fabulous place to stay for a couple of weeks in the summers of 77, 78 and 80. I wouldn't have relished a winter there though!
Shame that covid has seen the hut off limits these past couple of years but common sense has to prevail. I hope it is fully functioning when safe again.

This weather suits the landscape, here in the perfect-always-blue-sky region I really miss "bad" weather (which I consider a good one !!!!!).
