In the right weather this makes a great work place for a Glencoe warden however when this was taken a full scale mountain search and rescue was taking place in the glen with both military and civilian mountain rescue teams from all over the west coast arriving and crossing the bridge to the control point on the far side,
Search and rescue helicopters were flying overhead but apart from an occasional glance up she just carried on painting, seen it all before I guess.
Sadly as far as I am able to ascertain months later the climber is still unaccounted for.**************** As an Update, 2 more lives were lost in the glen yesterday16.01.16 when bodies of two climbers were recovered by the Glencoe mountain rescue team,********************

Bad news ... Had he gone alone ?
The landscape is absolutely superb and doesn't seem so dangerous... but I think that you mentionned the bad weather...don't you? (Google doesn't tell things very well. You probably know it (:o))
GREAT PHOTOGRAPH, Roger ! ******

Thank you Christiane, Yes he was alone and the steep ravines and rapidly changing weather of Glencoe has claimed many lives over the years.

Classic glacial sculpture. Sad about the climber--they always say not to hike/climb alone. They now make "personal beacons" tied into GPS that you can trigger if you're in trouble--my family got me one for Christmas. Seems like a good idea if you're out like this a lot!

Many thanks, The weather changes so quickly here it catches people out,. but sadly many lives have been lost in this area.

Beautiful. We are blessed with wonderful scenery. I think because our mountains are not that high people don't appreciate how dangerous our quickly changing weather conditions make them. They claim a lot of lives as a result.
Roger (Grisly) club has replied to Jean
Absolutely correct Jean, all the equipment in the world cannot beat the weather,
Stunning scenery that has to be treated with due respect.
