WAMBO 2014

WAMBO 2014
The Wallaceburg (Ontario) Antique Motor and Boat Outing, 2014. If you want to see old motors and boats, this is the place. Cars, trucks, fire trucks, tractors, speedboats, yachts, houseboats. The year this was taken, they had Miss Supertest III, three-time winner of the Harmsworth Cup.

It's usually held on this long weekend in August, but they're still debating whether to hold one this year; it would be held in September. Last year's was cancelled.

If you ever get the opportunity to go, go. Check to see if the Old Autos show in nearby Bothwell is on the same day. You can start at Wambo, then go to Bothwell for the 50/50 draw, and then if you still have vehicles to see in Wallaceburg head back.

I prefer the larger views here. Type Z to see what you think.

Cockshutt started out just down the road from where I live now, Pappy. It was originally the Brantford Plow Company. They were so highly regarded that White kept the name when they took them over.

How big a load could his tractors haul, though, TLC? The Cockshutt brothers could have shown him a thing or two.

You ain't knocking Minneapolis-Moline, are you, dC? Actually, as a good Canadian I should agree with you. Massey-Harrises and Massey-Fergusons were red(dish). But they're American now, anyway.

I once was impressed by Minneapolis-Molines at a vintage tractor pull. Ungainly-looking but they hauled pretty good.

They are beautiful, aren't they? It's not surprising that Lamborghini started out making tractors.

Southwestern Ontario has probably the most fertile farmland in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more tractors than people here.Wallaceburg's near the border, too, and there are a lot of entries from the Midwest and even farther away.

They also have fire engines, so I may be able to find a photo of a nice red one of those.
