The proud tower - do not come too close to the web? You too could come under its spell.

We cannot see the height of the tower except through wires? Like we cannot see the Mona Lisa through all of the off-color reproductions of it that get in the way?

Okay, soon time to take a vacation from ipernity..

Or perhaps a comment on the retro character of Toronto, Bob (I took this seven years ago and can't remember why). Who has communications towers any more? Who has streetcars running in the streets? Who has the last of the toilet-bowl baseball parks? Why, Toronto!!

Speaking of off-colour reproductions, I was impressed by a reproduction I had of Ingres' portrait of Madame Moitessier. Then when I finally saw the painting I found the colours were very different. Still impressive, but I felt as if I had stumbled into an alternate reality. Similarly, I admire William Eggleston's photographs, but I have never seen one of his prints, which I gather are more highly coloured than their reproductions. But then it's his composition I like.

The tower does look a bit sinister here, doesn't it?

I really like this shot John...............including the man-made spider web! Very nicely captured.

in the early 1980s (and before I developed a fear of heights) I went up the CN Tower...........it remember it as being quite amazing. I couldn't do it nowadays though. I still think it's a stunning building..!!

Thank you, Keith. You're having the same experience I'm having. I went up there many years ago and the height didn't bother me all that much. Then I went up two years ago and got distinctly uneasy up in the top pod. I had to work up my courage to stand on the glass floor.

Oh my, quite a network to guard - or interfere with - the tower. Amazing shot, John, amusing.

Safely behind bars? Well seen and captured.

Thanks, Leon. Perhaps the wires prevent the streetcars from attacking the tower.
