Thanks, Lutz. This is one of those cities about which people say there are only two seasons -- winter and roadwork.

That's what they say about our whole state!

I usually ignore the fence shots, but the grids and stripes and lots of orange add up to a bit more than fency usual here.

Thanks, Bob. Most of Canada and the States are probably like that. The winters get cold in the interior.

Stripes & Stripes & orange, oh my!
It doesn't get any better.
Still, how about getting out of town for a green change?

I was in the country last weekend and saw enough green to last me a lifetime, Sarah. Anyway, Toronto is the City in a Forest. Trees everywhere, at least in the part where I live. This is my neighbourhood:

Ernest Hemingway used to ride in the ravine. Toronto is also known as San Francisco Upside-Down because of all the ravines.

Glad to hear you got out of the city a bit (and if Toronto is the City in a Forest, I've yet to see the forest, says the treehugger to the lover of concrete.)
Don't mind me, I'm a green addict, which doesn't reduce my appreciation for your urban kaleidoscopes.

We have a surfeit of trees here, Sarah. There are two songs about Canada called "Rocks and Trees":

A very appropriately named business for Toronto and rumour has it that you have posted similar shots of those cones before.

A very belated HFF, John.
