Gallup, NM Ford Anglia (# 0454)
Ford Anglia from the mid-1960's, over a junk yard in Gallup, NM.
Since my childhood was spent near a fairly major port, it wasn’t unusual to see a wide variety of imports such as the Anglia around town in the 1960’s. I’m always, though, surprised to find them in parts of inland U.S. where there probably wasn’t very much in terms of imported car dealers or mechanics -- except possibly for sports cars. (Though I should acknowledge that my first cross-country trip was in 1967 in a 1963 VW.)
