London Earls Court (#0003)
My favortie gay pub in London, in the 70's/80's, was the Colherne, which was at this site. I found the other patrons to be usually friendly, that it was a good place to meet others; it was also the first place that I learned to like hard cider. In those days there was also a history of patrons being harrassed by police when leaving the bar, which I only experienced once with a bobby grilling me as I was headed to my nearby hotel. It's now the Pembroke and no longer a gay-identified business, though there were clearlly still a high portion of gays in the neighborhood and thus probably also at the pub.
